“I think in Rohit, you have got a very capable guy. He has won so many IPLs and has been the vice-captain of this side. He’s ready in the wings to take that job. As far as the T20 team is concerned, we will always have got a strong team. We might have not won this World Cup, but continuing forward, you will always have a very strong team because of the IPL,” Shastri was quoted saying in the post-match conference after the game against Namibia.

Rohit Sharma seems to be the best option currently to take charge of the Indian team in the shortest format, considering his experience with the Mumbai Indians. Ravi Shastri was optimistic about team India’s future and opined that the team will soon win one of the ICC tournaments. Ravi Shastri reveals how they were a bit defensive in the game against New Zealand, which in turn caused their exit from the marquee event.
As for the Indian team, they will play their next bilateral series in November itself. New Zealand is touring India for 3 T20Is and 2 Tests, starting from 17th November in Jaipur.
