IPL 2020 is one and a half months away to be kick start. This is the time when all the players, staff and other members associated with the franchises start preparing for the mega league. However, on Wednesday, RCB gave a hint of making two big changes for the upcoming season. RCB logo from all the social media handles of the franchise has been removed. However, RCB name on the accounts is unchanged.
Also, the franchise deleted all the pictures from their Instagram account. Since this activity of Royal Challengers Bangalore in social media platforms Twitter, Instagram and Facebook, the questions are arising that what’s cooking in the franchise. Some sources state that RCB will play IPL 2020 with a new name and logo.
Reason Behind RCB New Name & Logo
Some fans are believing that the Bangalore team has planned this after seeing Delhi Capitals’ performance last year. After the first 12 seasons of the cash-rich league, Virat Kohli-led franchise has not yet got their hands on the title. The same situation was with Delhi Daredevils. Then they changed Daredevils with Capitals ahead of IPL 2019 due to superstition reason.
After the change, Delhi has done really well throughout the season and had made their way to the playoffs for the first time in seven years. But superstition is not the case behind the logo and name change of RCB. Actually the certain group of the followers of RCB are not happy with the name as it still has the old name of the city. Now it’s Bengaluru but the IPL team is using Bangalore.
As per Hindustan Times, RCB will announce their new logo and name soon. The franchise will announce this officially on 16th February. Also, Muthoot Corp. is replacing Wrogn as the title sponsor of the team for the upcoming edition.
RCB Is Looking Strong
Whatever the logo or name, it doesn’t matter as the team should be strong to win the title. RCB have truly build a great squad for the IPL 2020. Royal Challengers Bangalore has bought the likes of Aaron Finch, Chris Morris, in the auction which has strengthened their squad. Current Virat Kohli-led team has the ability to lift the title this year.
