Sri Lankan cricket is going through its toughest phase currently. Reports: Sri Lanka Cricket Board is likely to be dissolved by the government over corruption charges and misuse of government funds.
The Srilanka cricket board is in a very critical condition after the investigators got to know that some of the members of SLC have used board money for their own good.
SLC spent over $107,800 approximately on the 16 members’ authority went T20 World Cup 2022
The board spent some hefty money in sending a 16 members administrators team for the T20 World Cup. The administrators were sent to have a close look at the Sri Lankan team’s performance on the biggest stage. Instead of keeping track of the progress of the team, the administrators used the money for their personal good.
The Investigation team has suggested the minister make a list of alleged spending on transport and accommodation of the 16 members cluster.
Board is also asked to seize the documents so that the worthy evidence doesn’t get destroyed in the process.
The sports minister of SLC started to take appropriate action after looking at the report
Roshan Ranasinghe is ready to take a strict decision against the accused. The SLC is however looking to dissolve the administration with their legal team.
The SLC secretory Mohan De silva gave his review after the preparation of the report. He said in an interview “We will be compelled to take legal action to protect the good name of the institution against the purported findings,”
The strict decision is taken after the poor show of the Lankan team against India in the limited-over series recently.

Reports: Sri Lanka Cricket Board likely to be dissolved by the government
In the report prepared by the committee, these were the following points included.

- SLC spent over Rs. 65 Million on sending the 16 members administrator committee.
- 14 members among the 16 were on the executive committee to watch the World Cup and 2 of them were paid, employees.
- The sports minister asked to minimize the cost but the decision was taken and neglected their opinion.
- The total sum of US$107,800—approximately Rs. 39,438,812.00 was spent on the air tickets and accommodation charges of the 16 officials.
Many big officials were traveling with the team in the T20 World Cup 2022
President, Vice President, Treasurer, CEO, and COO were among the 16 members administration team who traveled to Australia.
Executive Committee members Sujeewa Godaliyadda, Cryshantha Kapuwatte, Janaka Pathirana, Thilak Wathuhewa, Samantha Dodanwela, Priyantha Algama, Bandula Dissanayake, Rear Admiral Nishantha de Silva, and Nalin Aponsu were also there.
In the report, it was clearly stated that COO Jerome Jayaratne was sent with the team without any reason. He did no good for the team and instead spent time with his sister in Melbourne.
