Five batters with most runs in a single season of Women's T20 World Cup

The Women’s T20 World Cup has produced plenty of unforgettable batting performances over the years. However, only a handful of players have managed to dominate an entire tournament from start to finish.

As a result, it’s not easy to score more runs, especially when every match carries knockout-like pressure.

The recently concluded 2026 Women’s T20 World Cup raised the bar even higher. England opener Danni Wyatt-Hodge produced a batting campaign for the ages, becoming the first player to cross the 300-run mark in a single edition of the tournament.

Here are the five highest run-scoring campaigns in Women’s T20 World Cup history.

5. Beth Mooney (Australia) – 238 runs (2026)

Beth Mooney simply knows how to perform on the biggest stage. The Australian opener once again proved why she remains one of the most reliable batters in world cricket.

She finished the 2026 tournament with 238 runs and played a match-winning unbeaten 64 in the final against England. Australia won another title, while Mooney walked away with both the Player of the Match and Player of the Tournament awards.

The scary part is that this was not even her first appearance on this elite list. That tells you everything about her consistency.

4. Stafanie Taylor (West Indies) – 246 runs (2016)

Stafanie Taylor carried West Indies throughout the 2016 tournament. Whenever her team needed runs, she delivered.

She scored 246 runs and played a pivotal role in helping the West Indies lift their first Women’s T20 World Cup trophy. Taylor mixed patience with smart attacking cricket and handled pressure better than almost anyone else in the competition.

It remains one of the greatest all-round batting performances in Women’s T20 World Cup history.

3. Beth Mooney (Australia) – 259 runs (2020)

Before her 2026 heroics, Beth Mooney had already produced one of the finest tournaments ever by an opener.

She smashed 259 runs during Australia’s unbeaten campaign in 2020 and finished as the tournament’s leading run-scorer. Her unbeaten 78 in the final against India at the MCG remains one of the best innings played in a Women’s T20 World Cup final.

Mooney rarely throws away her wicket, and that ability makes her incredibly difficult to stop in ICC tournaments. Few batters combine consistency and composure as well as she does.

2. Charlotte Edwards (England) – 260 runs (2009)

Charlotte Edwards set a standard long before women’s cricket received the global attention it enjoys today.

The former England captain scored 260 runs in the inaugural Women’s T20 World Cup in 2009. In the process, she ended the tournament as the leading batter and helped her side lift the trophy.

For years, her record looked untouchable. Several great players came close, but nobody managed to overtake her until the modern era.

1. Danni Wyatt-Hodge (England) – 302 runs (2026)

Danni Wyatt-Hodge etched her name into the record books by becoming the first player to score more than 300 runs in a single Women’s T20 World Cup. The experienced England opener finished the tournament with 302 runs and entertained fans with fearless strokeplay from the first match to the last.

Her tournament started in spectacular fashion with a brilliant century against Sri Lanka, and she never slowed down after that. She kept attacking quality bowling attacks, dominated the power play, and gave England flying starts throughout the competition.

England eventually fell short against Australia in the final, but Wyatt-Hodge’s tournament deserves to be remembered regardless of the result. Individual records rarely survive in global events because pressure usually catches up with batters. Wyatt-Hodge did the opposite. She got better as the tournament progressed and created a record that could stand for many years.
