Once there was the time when Test Cricket was the only format of the sport. But then One Day Internationals (ODIs) format was introduced and became more popular than multiple Days Matches. However, Test Matches were still popular among Players. But after the introduction of T20s Format, Players have also changed their views regarding Test Format.
Currently, the International Cricket Council (ICC) is doing their best to get back the attention of modern cricketers and fans in the older format. Recently, ICC has announced World Test Championship which is already started form 1st of the August. As we all know to keep the popularity of anything we must have to make continuous improvement. Continuous Improvement is always a much-needed to keep things alive.
The legendary batsman Sachin Tendulkar came up with a special plan to alive Test Cricket in modern days. Former Indian Cricketer feels that Dead Pitches of modern times is the only reason behind older format’s decline. He also added that to keep alive the Test Format we must focus on challenging pitches and there should be something for bowlers as well in the pitches.

“Test cricket is going to revive if we produce interesting tracks, but if the tracks are flat and dead, then Test cricket is going to find its challenges. I know, this Test World Championship has announced but even to have this World Championship, you got to make cricket interesting. Just by having a Championship, cricket is not going to get interesting,” Tendulkar said.
“(Steve) Smith got injured, unfortunately, that was a big blow to him but Test cricket was exciting. When Jofra Archer challenged him. The focus shifted to Test cricket, people almost kind of forgot that four weeks ago, there was World Cup being played in England, nobody is talking about that, everyone is talking about Test cricket, because it is challenging and exciting, he further added.
As we all know Sachin was one of the best batsmen of his era. And he has almost all the big records in Test and ODIs. ICC should have to take care of Sachin’s Plan and try to implement it on Modern days Pitches.
