Star CSK all-rounder Shivam Dube has picked his All Time CSK XI which includes some big names of international cricket and he has named MS Dhoni as the leader of the side. While the all-rounder has kept himself in the first XI, he neither picked off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin nor Deepak Chahar.
Shivam Dube picks Hayden and Hussey as openers in his All Time CSK XI
The explosive all-rounder selected the legendary Australian duo of Michael Hussey and Matthew Hayden as openers of the side. Both the batters were an integral part of the CSK side for the initial few editions of the Indian Premier League.
Dube then picked ‘Chinna Thala’ Suresh Raina who literally owns the number 3 position in the Chennai Super Kings side. Raina is arguably the most successful batter for the Yellow Army and is hailed as ‘Mr. I’ll for the kind of success he brought for the franchise.
Ambati Rayudu, who recently announced his retirement from the cash-rich league was picked for the number 4 slot by Shivam. Thala MS Dhoni was the obvious choice for the captain and wicketkeeper position and Dube picked him for number 5 position.
Ravindra Jadeja, Albie Morkel and Dwayne Bravo were selected as all-rounders by Dube. He then picked veteran Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh and Lakshmipathy Balaji in the XI.
Shivam Dube leaves out R Ashwin and Deepak Chahar from his CSK XI
At last, Shivam Dube picked himself in the All Time CSK XI. However, he neither picked Deepak Chahar who is the mainstay of their bowling lineup for the last few seasons nor did he pick Ravichandran Ashwin who played a crucial part in CSK’s success till IPL 2015.
On August 5, Chennai Super Kings shared the video of Shivam Dube selecting his best CSK XI on their official Instagram account. They also added the caption,“All time XI of Dube is as strong as a clay”
While the CSK XI chosen by the explosive all-rounder looks pretty strong on the paper, he certainly missed a few key names like Faf du Plessis, Imran Tahir and Murali Vijay.
Meanwhile, courtesy of his consistent performance for the CSK side in the last two IPL editions, Dube has been picked in the 15-member squad for the three-match T20I series against Ireland starting on August 18.
