Former New Zealand skipper Simon Doull was not at all impressed with Royal Challengers Bangalore decision as they have bought Chrish Morish for huge money. Earlier, Delhi Capitals had released Morris from their squad for the upcoming IPL season. In the past years’ auction, Morris had been the biggest attraction and he proved it once again as a number of teams went all out to secure his services.
In Today’s auction, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) signed Chris Morris for INR 10 crore for the upcoming IPL season. Meanwhile, RCB took competition with Kings XI Punjab and Mumbai Indians before signing South Africa all-rounder. And now South African all-rounder will be the part of Royal Challengers’ dressing room.
Earlier he had been the part of Delhi Capitals, Rajasthan Royals and Sunrisers Hyderabad in the past seasons. And during the IPL 2018, he was retained by Delhi Capitals despite having not that much performance in the 2017 year. But now after two consecutive failure from the Morris, Delhi had decided to release him ahead of this year auction.
Before 2019 auction, Chris Morris hadn’t that much impressive outing in the Mzansi Super League. He managed to pick only 10 wickets from 11 games at an economy of 8.20 and scored 122 runs at a strike-rate of 176. And, meanwhile, Royal Challengers Bangalore after buying Chris Morris have become the fourth team to have him in the squad.
Simon Doull Slammed RCB For Spending ‘Stupid Money’
In the past few months, South African Chris Morris batsman has not that much great knock and that’s why New Zealand former cricketer Simon Doull slammed RCB for their poor knowledge. He criticised the knowledge of most of the IPL franchises while also expressing his surprise over Chris Woakes being sold at his base price of INR 1.5 crore.
He wrote on Twitter, “Staggering to see the lack of knowledge in the bidding right now on @StarSportsIndia apart from @DelhiCapitals. Woakes a bargain and now stupid money for Morris. What’s going on..?”
