Shubman Gill during yesterday’s ODI against the Black Caps stole the show thanks to a destructive double century (208 off 149), helping Team India eke out a hard-fought win against the visitors.
Gill, 23, became the youngest till date and 8th overall to touch the 200 run figure in One Day Internationals. The right-hander joined an elite list of batsmen that consists of 4 fellow Indians in Sachin Tendulkar, Rohit Sharma, Virendra Sehwag and Ishan Kishan.
Shubman was applauded by one and all for his flawless knock which saw him smack 9 maximums as a majority of the pundits, as well as fans, credited the record-breaking knock to his improved power game.
However, a meme account on Twitter came up with a photo of Shubman Gill and Punjabi actress Sonam Bajwa together, hilariously alluding her as the reason for Gill’s success.

Shubman Gill has been spotted with bollywood actress and Saif Ali Khan’s daughter, Sara Ali Khan on multiple occasions in recent times. It is reported that Gill is in a relationship with her.
Notably, The 23-year-old’s ties with Sachin Tendulkar’s daughter Sara Tendulkar (his alleged ex-girlfriend) severed a couple of months ago.
Having replaced veteran opener Shikhar Dhawan after his poor run of form, Gill has made most of his opportunities thus far.
Shubman Gill, after scoring his first 106 runs en route to his double ton, became the fastest Team India batsman (19 innings) to breach the 1000-run mark in ODI cricket. The record was earlier held jointly by Kohli and Dhawan, who had both reached the landmark in 24 innings.
The right-hander currently averages 68.88 for his 1102 One Day International runs which include 3 hundreds and five fifties. Provided he keeps his fitness, Gill is going to be a key player if Team India are to win the upcoming ODI WC.
