The Australian opening batsman David Warner wins the legal battle with Australian sports equipment company Spartan. The player filed a case against them in court for unpaid sponsorship money which he won yesterday. He got rewarded $420,000 for winning the legal battle in court. The company which Sponsored MS Dhoni’s bats has been punished by Warner.
The southpaw is currently in England for the much-awaited 2nd Ashes Test scheduled to play at the Lords on 28th June. However, his on-field performances have let down the player’s morale but the positive news coming out from Australia will surely bring a smile to his face.
David Warner signed a 2-year deal with Spartan Sports company based in Northern Beaches in the year 2018. Since then Warner played with their sponsored bat in the marquee event like the 2019 ODI World Cup and the 2019 IPL.
Warner was expected to get $382,940 for the multi-year deal which he didn’t get after the completion of the deal. As a result, Warner filed a complaint against them in court and signed a new deal with his current sponsor DSC.

The Southpaw didn’t hold himself from the case and his lawyer kept attending the court hearings for the last 3 years. After the completion of the case, the Sydney District Court declared Spartans Sports guilty of not paying Warner his due money.
It’s not the first time that the Spartan Sports company has been sued by a cricketer. One of the greatest cricketers of all time Sachin Tendulkar also filed a legal complaint against the brand for failing to give him royalty even after using his image and logo for promotional services.
However, Sachin got his settlement money within a few days and $3.1 million were received in his bank account.

The company was once emerging as a major power in world cricket. Big players were signing deals with them to collaborate and at that time their business was off and running. However, things changed drastically for the company in the corona period.
