Pakistan’s wait to win a T20 contest against India has finally got over as they defeated the Indian team by a huge margin of 10 wickets in the opening game of their T20 World Cup campaign. The Indian openers couldn’t make any impact in the game and a journalist questioned Rohit Sharma’s selection in the first game. However, Virat Kohli shuts down a journalist for his preposterous question.
Indian batsmen looked off-color in their opening match of the marquee event and none of them could really get going, with the exception of Virat Kohli. India lost both their openers inside the first 3 overs, which made things difficult for the batsmen to come. In the post-match press conference, the Indian skipper was questioned about Rohit Sharma’s selection in the playing XI and the skipper didn’t like the question at all.
Virat Kohli shuts down journalist
The journalist, in the post-match press conference, opined that Ishan Kishan could’ve been a better option than Rohit Sharma. Kohli didn’t shy away from the question and replied saying, “Will you drop Rohit Sharma for a T20I team? Even after knowing what he did for us in the last game? Unbelievable! If you want controversy, then tell before”. Virat Kohli replied to the journalist in his own style as he usually does.
Virat Kohli was left a bit stunned by a question in the press conference whether India should have selected Ishan Kishan instead of Rohit Sharma.

Previously, Babar Azam opted to bowl after winning the toss and the decision proved to be quite fruitful for his team as Shaheen Afridi ran through the Indian top-order with his immaculate bowling. Kohli scored a gritty half-century and was the only Indian batsman who looked in control. Pant also made his contribution of 39 crucial runs, but played one shot too many and got out.

The Pakistani openers looked in complete control as they played on their merit and scored quick runs against the scratchy Indian bowling. The Indian bowlers could not even take a single wicket as the Pakistani openers put up a record-breaking 152-run partnership. India will play their next game against New Zealand on 31st October and they will look to make amends.
