It has been 77 international innings for Virat Kohli since his last century. And ever since then, King Kohli and his century drought has become the hottest topic of discussion for cricket pundits and fans alike.
The criticism that he cops with every latest failure is just getting harsher. It is also starting to make a lot of sense, and frighteningly so.
Thus, when Kohli fell for a 25-ball-16 in the second ODI against England, every cricket fan knew that only criticism was on the way. However, Babar Azam’s surprise support caught everyone off-guard.
Kohli responds to Babar Azam’s show of support
Following Virat Kohli’s failure in the 2nd ODI against England, where he edged yet another leaveable delivery through to the keeper, he received a lot of schooling from several sources. Indian former cricketer Kapil Dev even went so far as to recommend dropping India’s greatest active batter from the international eleven.
Nevertheless, amidst all the chaos, Babar had shared a motivational message for the struggling Indian batsman moments after his dismissal against the Englishmen.
Sharing a photo of himself and Kohli from the India-Pakistan 2021 T20WC game, Babar tweeted, “This too shall pass. Stay Strong.”
Babar’s tweet; which was a show of true sportsmanship and support, has received untamed love from the cricket fraternity. Even King Kohli -the man himself- has responded to Babar’s motivational message. Kohli’s reply has already broken the internet and has received more than 155k likes as this piece is being written.
Thank you. Keep shining and rising. Wish you all the best 👏
