As team India starts their prep for the upcoming T20 World Cup, former cricketers and analysts have started putting in their views on how the Playing XI of team India should be for the marquee event. The forthcoming edition of the T20 World Cup is going to be crucial for the team as they were eliminated from the tournament in the group stage only last year. As the team figures out their combination, former cricketer Virender Sehwag picks India’s top order for the tournament.
Virender Sehwag picks the top order for team India
Team India recently finished a 5-match T20I series against South Africa and are now facing Ireland for 2 T20I matches. Some new faces were given an opportunity to be a part of the Indian team and they may well be in contention to be a part of the squad that’s going to be picked for the T20 World Cup. The Indian team is currently facing a problem of plenty and Virender Sehwag picks the top order for India with a shocking exclusion.
Virat Kohli has been a sure-shot match winner for the Indian team over the years, however his form in the last two years or so hasn’t been up to the mark. As Virender Sehwag picks his top order for team India, he makes an exclusion in the form of Virat Kohli. The former explosive batsman feels that the Top 3 should consist of Ishan Kishan, KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma for the T20 World Cup.
“India has options aplenty when it comes to hard hitters in T20s. However, I would personally vouch for Rohit Sharma, Ishan Kishan, and KL Rahul as the top three batters for the World Cup in Australia. The right-hand and left-hand combination of Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan, or for that matter, Ishan and KL Rahul could be quite interesting for the World T20,” said the former cricketer on Sony Network as Virender Sehwag picks his top order.
While talking about India’s combination for the T20 World Cup, Virender Sehwag picks Umran Malik and feels that he should be a part of the plan for team India going ahead. It will be interesting to see what the final combination of the team would be in the grand event where team India will enter the field to prove themselves.
