In a roller-coaster game between KKR and GT in the end the defending champions prevail victorious as they did more things right.
Firstly while batting first KKR posted a total of 179 runs which was not satisfactory considering the start they got. Rehmanullah Gurbaz dominated GT’s best bowler Rashid Khan and scored 81 off just 39 balls. His wickets proved costly at the end as KKR were 15-20 runs short considering the nature of the wicket.
Andre Russel who has been out of touch lately with the bat fired against GT at the end of the innings. Russel’s 34 off 19 took KKR to a fighting total of 179.

In the second innings when GT was chasing a target of 180 runs the openers Shubhman Gill and Wridhiman Saha were off to a great start. A leg-before appeal was made against Gill who has been in great touch recently.
Youngster Harshit Rana convinced his captain Nitish Rana to take the review despite the captain giving it not out. After looking at it at first sight it looked plum in front of the wicket which made KKR fielders celebrate the wicket.

Batsman Shubhman Gill was also seen laughing after the big screen showed a spike. Gill was very sure that there was a definite involvement of the bat while the bowlers made the appeal.
After that appeal, Gill scored 49 runs off 35 which set the platform of the chase for the other batters.

David Miller and Vijay Shankar finished off the game with 2 over remaining. During the middle overs when Narine tightens the grip of KKR in the match and Vijay Shankar’s unreal striking at the end helped GT win by 7 wickets.
Young Irish pacer Joshua Little was named man of the match in the end for picking 2 wickets. He removed in form, Venkatesh Iyer and Captain Nitish Rana.
