Watch: Ashton Agar turns a six into 1 run with an insane fielding effort during AUS vs ENG ODI

Kangaroo spinner Ashton Agar put on an unbelievable effort at the boundary rope during today’s ODI match between Australia and England that is being held at Adelaide Oval Stadium. 

Put in to bat first, the reigning ODI and T20 international champions were carried heavily by number three batsman Dawid Malan (134 off 128) and managed to score 289 runs for the loss of nine wickets.

During the closing stages of the match, Dawid Malan smacked a length ball from Australian skipper Pat Cummins to deep mid-wicket. 

Though the white Kookaburra had six runs stamped all over it, Ashton Agar put in an insane fielding effort at the boundary rope and saved his team 5 precious runs. 

Timing his leap to perfection, the Kangaroo spinner plucked the ball from past the cushions before flicking it back into play in remarkable fashion; all while staying mid-air. 

The stunning effort turned a certain six into a single and was appreciated by both the crowd and the on-air commentators.

Barring centurion Dawid Malan, no England batsman could get going and four of their top 5 failed to cross the 20-run mark. David Willey (34) was the second-highest run-scorer for the Three Lions and put on a crucial 60-run stand with Malan. 

The AUS bowlers struck at regular intervals and denied England momentum throughout the match. Adam Zampa and Pat Cummins were the pick of the bowlers and shared 6 wickets between them.

Spin all-rounder Ashton Agar –who at last got a game after warming the bench throughout the T20 World Cup– had a brilliant outing in the field, having also executed a direct hit from point region to get rid of Liam Dawson earlier. 

The 147-run assault from the opening pair of Travis Head (69 off 57) and David Warner (76* off 73 at present) during the chase has more or less confirmed a win for the Kangaroos.
