Over the past few days, Australia has been hosting New Zealand for a limited-overs series. Currently, the 2nd ODI of the tour is being played between the two sides.
Matt Henry and Trent Boult made the ball move sideways to crack through the whole batting order of the Kangaroos, barring the dependable Steve Smith (61), who helped the visitors post 195 on the board.
In reply, NZ also had a poor start and was reduced to 14 for 3 at the nine-over mark.
But things may have been even worse for them had Australia executed the easy run-out chance after Kane Williamson’s horror mix-up with Devon Conway.
Kane Williamson and Conway involve in a huge mix-up
Guptill was dismissed by Mitchell Starc on the fifth ball of the first over. But despite losing a key player, Kane interestingly tried to risk a tight single on the immediate next ball.
The NZ captain played the length ball off the backfoot and set out for a suicidal single. Devon Conway hesitated after coming halfway down the pitch to Kane Williamson’s call and the horror mix-up resulted in both him and Kane stuck in the middle of the pitch.
However, instead of cashing in on the easy chance, the Australians staged their own comedy of errors.
Sean Abbott –at the short cover– first failed to pick up the ball, and after he did so and threw it to Carey, the WK missed the stumps attempting a fancy deflection.

The reprieve off Kane Williamson’s horror mix-up with Devon Conway didn’t cost the Kangaroos much as both the batsmen failed to use the precious lives.
Both Conway (5 off 20) and Kane (17 off 58) struggled for rhythm and timing as the Australian bowlers bowled troubling line and length.
Presently, New Zealand is reeling at 45 for 6 and look set for a huge defeat. Zampa and Sean have taken two wickets each while Mitchell Starc and Marcus Stoinis have had a productive outing.
