The Australian men’s cricket team has been having quite a bit of fun in their ongoing tour of Pakistan. Their batters made the most of the absolute belter of a wicket that the Rawalpindi stadium’s ‘below-average’ surface had to offer. The likes of Marnus Labuschagne and Usman Khawaja also had a fun time getting to know how the passionate Pindi fans reacted to their first-time arrival in the country.
And it seems that Australia’s fun and frolic dressing room culture has seeped itself outside of the cricket field as well. Over on a recent video that captain Pat Cummins uploaded on Instagram, wicket-keeper Alex Carey was seen absent-mindedly walking into a swimming pool!
Alex Carey absent-mindedly walks into a swimming pool
The Australian team had arrived at their new hotel in Karachi in preparation of the second test that’s slated to start from 12 March. In the video, Carey was seen having a passionate conversation with his teammates; so much so that he didn’t realise that he was walking on the opposite side of the gate! As a result, Carey ended up walking and falling right into the swimming pool, much to the entertainment of his squad mates.
It took Alex Carey a few seconds to recover from the surprise, and once he did, he grabbed his phone from his pocket and tossed it to his teammates. Former Australia pacer Brett Lee reckoned that Carey’s “phone will be ringing wet (sic)”. Here’s the video of Carey’s hilarious brain-fade moment.

The visitors would be hoping that all the fun and frolic they’ve enjoyed over the past couple of days carries over into the Karachi test match. With the ICC rating Rawalpindi’s pitch ‘below-average’, it’s fair to expect that the hosts will be adding a lot more flavor onto the Karachi wicket to ensure a more competitive match.
