As the final of T20 World Cup 2021 took place yesterday, Australia triumphed over New Zealand and added another World Cup trophy to their cabinet. Mitchell Marsh and David Warner emerged as the protagonists of the heroic win combined with a brilliant effort from their bowling unit.
The win is certainly historic and the Aussies did not shy away from celebrating it in a grand fashion. From dance to drinks, Australia players were seen cherishing every moment of their success.
Australia players drink from shoe after winning T20 WC
A video from last night’s celebration is grabbing the fans’ eyeballs on social media. Australia’s wicketkeeper-batsman Matthew Wade removed his left shoe and poured a drink into it. As other players cheered, he drank it. His teammate Marcus Stoinis did not hold himself back from joining the party and followed Wade’s actions.
The duo was Australia’s heroes in the semi-final against Pakistan. In a see-saw battle, the men in yellow-edged Babar and Co., courtesy of an 81-run partnership between Wade and Stoinis.

The tale of the final
Talking about the final of the grand event, Australia won the toss and chose to ball. New Zealand were limping till the 10th over but their skipper as always stood up in a big game and led his side to a total of 172 runs.Â
It was the time for the Kangaroos to bat and they did not disappoint their fans. They suffered an early setback in the form of Aaron Finch’s dismissal but did not look back after their captain’s wicket. Mitchell Marsh along with David Warner went berserk and took the Kiwis by surprise.

A 92-run partnership for the second wicket was enough to make the much-awaited clash a one-sided affair. Glenn Maxwell added the finishing touches to the chase and Australia won the final by 8 wickets. Marsh was awarded Player of the Match for his unbeaten knock of 77 runs. David Warner took the Player of the Tournament award home.
