In the 13th match of the PSL 8, Islamabad opted to bat first at the National Stadium Karachi. Islamabad didn’t start off well as they lost their first 3 wickets inside the powerplay at just 39 runs. Opener Colin Munro kept putting the bad balls away at one end till the 10th over.

After Munro’s dismissal on 39 runs, Azam Khan took the charge and smashes the bowlers all around the park.
Azam Khan’s carnage made the Quetta skipper clueless as after the first 10 overs Islamabad was 71-4. The young talented Pakistani batter scored 97 runs off just 42 deliveries at a strike rate of 230.95.
His brutal hitting pounced Islamabad to 220/6 at a very decent wicket for bowling. The player missed out on a well-deserved century on the last of the innings.
Odean Smith was bowling the last over of the Innings in which Azam Khan already smashed a four and a six. On the last delivery of the innings, Odean changed up with the pace and bowled a slower ball which tricked Azam Khan and perished his stumps.

In the destructive innings of 97 runs by Azam Khan he smacked 3 back-to-back sixes off Mohammad Hasnain. Out of the three sixes, one of them went out of the park. The speedster tried to escape with a full wide yorker which got converted into an in-slot ball by in-form Azam Khan.
The right batter bend on his knees and just timed his sweep to the fullest. The ball went sailing out of the stadium which got a huge smile from the opposition captain Sarfaraz as well.

Quetta has been handed their 4th defeat of the season on Friday against Islamabad United. Sarfaraz and his men wouldn’t have thought of this type of start to the tournament as they have lost 4 out of 5 matches.
Quetta has now a very rare chance of coming back from this situation as they place at the bottom of the points table.
