The ninth edition of Big Bash League has been in the news either for its individual records or some brilliant team efforts. Once again something like this took place during the 56th match of the ongoing BBL between Melbourne Renegades and Brisbane Heat in Melbourne. Brisbane Heat all-rounder Ben Cutting smashed a huge six while opening the innings along with Sam Heazlett (6).
The incident occurred on the first delivery of the fourth over when Ben Cutting pulled a delivery off the bowler Will Sutherland. He hit at the front over the deep mid-wicket region and the ball ended up landing on the third tier of the Docklands stadium. After that, he also smashed a massive six over the deep square leg area on the second tier.
However, Sutherland had the last laugh as he dismissed him on the fourth delivery of the same over after Cutting was trapped in front of the stumps. He scored 27 off 11 with two fours and as many sixes before getting out. On the other hand, all-rounder Matt Renshaw top-scored for the side as he scored 65 off 47 with the help of three fours and four sixes.

Brisbane Heat put up a huge competitive total of 154 for 7 in their allotted 20 overs after the captain Chris Lynn won the toss and elected to bat first. Will Sutherland was the pick of the bowlers as he ended up with a bowling figure of 3-0-30-3. However, Melbourne Renegades chased down the total with ease. Captain Aaron Finch maintained his red-hot form and smashed another half-century (63) and all-rounder Mohammad Nabi scored 38. They stitched an 87-run partnership for the fourth wicket which led them to a comfortable victory in the last over of their chase.
As far as the national team is concerned, Australia faced a 1-2 loss in the recently-concluded ODI series against India in India. Although they won the five-match ODI series by 3-2 last year against the same opponent.
