Delhi Capitals’ David Warner has quite a reputation for his dancing and acting skills in social media videos; and in Friday’s IPL game between Delhi and Rajasthan, Warner managed to bring some of his fine acting skills onto the cricketing field- albeit unsuccessfully.

Batting on 28 during Delhi’s run-chase, Warner was outfoxed by a sharp, angling delivery from Krishna. He tried to back away but ended up completely cramped for room, managing to produce a thick outside-edge that Rajasthan’s ‘keeper-captain Sanju Samson held on to brilliantly.
But what’s interesting about the dismissal- if Warner even believed there might have been one- was his reaction- or lack, thereof. After playing the shot, Warner smartly turned down Prithvi Shaw for a single and resumed to take his guard on the crease; as if he hadn’t made any contact with the delivery!
It wasn’t until the umpire raised his finger and officially adjudged him out that Warner decided to walk back to the pavilion. From the looks of it, Warner will have to come up with a better audition in the future if he wishes to pull off such smart stunts. Here’s the video of the incident:
Match Summary
The Warner dismissal aside, the biggest talking point from the DC vs RR match was the controversial umpiring call during the final over of the run chase. Needing 36 off the last over, Rovman Powell had smoked Obed McCoy for 3 successive sixes; but an error of judgement from the field umpires in not calling a no ball caused quite a bit of drama on the field.
As it turned out, the drama fizzled out all the momentum Powell had built up, enabling Rajasthan to win the game by 15-runs and head to the top of the table.
Brief scores: Rajasthan 222/2 (Buttler 116, Padikkal 54, Mustafizur 1/43) beat Delhi 207/8 (Pant 44, Lalit 37, Prasidh 3/22) by 15 runs.
