The second Test match between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka has witnessed some amusing incidents during the passage of play at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram. On the second day’s play, three Bangladesh fielders were involved in a comedy of errors as they dropped an easy catch. Najmul Hossain Shanto, Shahadat Hossain Dipu and Zakir Hasan combined to drop a dolly and the video clip of the same went viral. The very incident triggered a truckload of memes on the social media channels.
Meanwhile, another incident caught our attention, this time on Day 3 of the same Test match when as many as five Bangladeshi players sprinted to stop the ball. The incident happened during the 21st over of Sri Lanka’s innings when Jayasuriya tried to drive the ball towards the third man for a possible four. The right-handed batter tried to find the gap between the slip and gully as the ball easily beat the fielders and raced towards the rope.

As it turned out, all the Bangladeshi fielders who were stationed at the slip, immediately rushed towards the red cherry to prevent it from touching the rope. In the process, the fielders managed to stop the ball but several netizens found it literally amusing as all five fielders challenged themselves in a race.

The first four days of the second Test has come to a close, with the hosts ending the day at 268/7. They still need 243 runs to win the game on the final day, which seems highly unlikely. Sri Lanka need three more wickets to win the game and will be curious to inflict a 2-0 whitewash on Bangladesh. Mehidy Hasan Miraz remains unbeaten on 44 including seven fours whereas Taijul Islam remains not out on 10 runs.

The duo will be hoping to provide a positive start to the game on the next day and try their best to switch between defense and attack when required. On the other hand, Sri Lankan bowlers will stick to their subtle bowling variations of line and length to get the job done on the final day.
