England Cricket Team has had a forgettable end of the year 2023. The Jos Buttler-led side underperformed in the World Cup and following their tour to the West Indies has not gone as expected. The English brigade suffered an ODI series defeat against the men in maroon after 16 years. They also lost the first two games of the 5-match T20I series. However, Harry Brook’s brilliant finish in the 3rd T20I has kept England’s hope alive.
The T20I match at Grenada witnessed West Indies reaching a formidable total of 226 runs. With 82 runs off 45 balls, Nicholas Pooran remained the highest run-getter for the hosts. In reply, the English side had a dream start to their innings as their openers Jos Buttler and Phil Salt went on to build a 115-run partnership.
England needed 21 runs in the last over, Harry Brook chased it
Then they lost both Buttler and Will Jacks within 6 balls. On the other end, Phil Salt was looking unstoppable and went on to score his maiden T20I hundred. However, West Indies had a better chance on hand before the last over. With, Harry Brook the new arrival at the crease, England needed 21 runs off the last ball.
Andre Russell wanted to start the over with a yorker, however, missed the line and Brook collected a boundary off the delivery. Two sixes on the next two deliveries completely changed the course of the game and now England needed 5 runs in 3 balls. Brook didn’t waste any time and went on to score a double and six on 4th and 5th deliveries respectively. With this, the visitors managed to keep the series alive for them at 2-1.

Brian Lara Stadium in Trinidad will host the remaining two games. The English side will look to win these matches and end the tour on a high note. This is the 5th away T20I series for England against West Indies, the Windies side has previously won 3.
