Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) fans are passionate, but no one shows more support than their CEO, Kavya Maran. She attends almost every match and backs her team with full heart in the first place. Her animated reactions during games have become a major talking point in recent years. Whether SRH wins or loses, Kavya’s emotions are always on display.
Cameras often catch her cheering, clapping or reacting emotionally. Fans admire this side of her. It makes her relatable and easy to root for. Meanwhile, in the Sunday’s encounter against Gujarat Titans (GT) at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, her reaction again made headlines.
SRH were under pressure, and so was the left-hander, Abhishek Sharma. The young opener came into this match with just 33 runs from four innings. His average was a low 8.25, and fans expected him to deliver in this home game.
Kavya Maran’s animated reaction to Abhishek Sharma garners fans’ attention
Abhishek looked positive at the start and it was evident when he hit 4 fours and seemed ready to build a big innings to make a bold statement. However, he couldn’t go the distance as he got out for 18 off 16 balls, just when it looked like he was settling in. His dismissal came during the fifth over of the innings. Mohammed Siraj bowled a good length ball around middle and leg and Abhishek tried to loft it over mid-on but didn’t connect well properly. The ball went straight to Rahul Tewatia, who took a simple catch.
As soon as he got out, the camera turned to Kavya Maran. Her reaction told the whole story. She looked shocked and frustrated and the clip quickly went viral on social media. Fans shared it across platforms, calling it one of the most relatable moments of the match.

Well, this isn’t the first time her reactions have gone viral. SRH fans felt the disappointment too. They expected Abhishek Sharma to play a bigger role and make a telling impact in the home fixture. His early dismissal hurt the team’s chances as the Hyderabad-based franchise could muster 152/8 in their allotted quota of 20 overs.

On the other side of the coin, the Ahmedabad-based franchise chased down the target without any fuss. Shubman Gill-led team won the game by 7 wickets in 16.4 overs, much to SRH’s annoyance. But there is still hope Abhishek bounce back. He has all the tools and ingredients to make his presence count at the crease and he just needs one good innings to turn things around.
