The Trinidad T10 Blast 2022 kicked off on February 26 with six teams contesting for the trophy. The tournament will be played in a span of 15 days and consists of well-known West Indies players with the likes of Kieron Pollard, Nicholas Pooran, Sunil Narine and Akeal Hosein. Pollard is providing his services for Scarlet Ibis Scorchers and turned off-spinner which proved to be a fruitful move for his team as he picked up a wicket in the first over.
The fans witnessed the new avatar of Pollard in the third match of the league between Soca King and Scarlet Ibis Scorchers which took place in Brian Lara Stadium on 27th February. The Scorchers skipper opted to field first upon winning the toss and the Soca King got off to a flying start. The captain brought in Kieron Pollard in the fourth over and the cricketer decided to do some experiment as he turned off-spinner.

On the fifth delivery of the over, Leonardo Julien tried to play a shot towards the on-side but he was castled by the “off-spinner” Pollard as he completely misjudged the delivery. Though Pollard got the first wicket for his team, the Soca King batsmen were after the Scorchers bowlers as they batted fiercely and accumulated a massive 150 runs in 10 overs. The target proved to be too good for the Scorchers and they lost the match by 42 runs eventually by D/L method.
