During the virtual semi-final game between Sri Lanka and Pakistan at the R Premadasa stadium Rizwan and Iftikhar rescued Pakistan to post a challenging total on board. While Iftikhar and Rizwan were continuing their carnage Sri Lankan spinner Maheesh Theekshana almost got the wicket of in-form Iftikhar however his captain refused to refer to the third umpire.
Sri Lankan bowlers pulled the strings at the R Premadasa stadium after Babar Azam and Abdullah Shafique gave a gas start to their team. Wellalage’s beauty to perish Babar and Pathirana’s back-to-back wickets took the momentum away from Pakistan.
However, Rizwan and Iftikhar didn’t let Sri Lanka put them under the shell and thanks to the rain interruption as well which worked in favour of Pakistan. While Iftikhar and Rizwan were building a strong partnership together injured Maheesh Theekshana bowled a flat and quick carrom ball which struck Iftikhar on his front pad but the umpire gave it not out.
Maheesh Theekshana who was limping and bowling the last over of his spell was absolutely convinced that the ball would crash the stumps however the keeper and captain thought otherwise.
Maheesh Theekshana frustrated after his referral request turned down by Shanaka
Maheesh Theekshana who got hurt while stopping a boundary kept bowling to complete his spell and almost got the wicket of dangerous Iftikhar. Unfortunately, captain Shanaka didn’t have faith in him and refused to take the review.
Maheesh Theekshana displayed remarkable commitment by bowling his full quota of overs despite being injured.

While Theekshana was getting the treatment sitting near the boundary line he saw the replay on the big screen which made him absolutely furious. Maheesh Theekshana smashed the ground in frustration and was completely unhappy with his skipper and the wicket-keeper Kusal Mendis who didn’t show confidence in Theekshana.
Maheesh Theekshana hurt his right hamstring while fielding in the SL vs PAK game
During the Super 4 clash between Sri Lanka and Pakistan Theekshana dived to stop a boundary fielding in the deep in process he hurt his hamstring. However, the player kept bowling with an injured hamstring to complete his quota which got him a lot of appreciation from the crowd as well.
The player will undergo the scans tomorrow morning which will clear out the injury seriousness. Looking at the screen it didn’t appear to be a serious one and Theekshana will be seen bowling as expected.
