During the innings, Kuldeep Yadav gave some hammering to the most expensive IPL player ever, Mitchell Starc. The 16th over of DC’s innings was bowled by the Aussie speedster. In the 5th ball of the over, Starc bowled a short-pitched delivery, which Kuldeep picked up and dispatched for a maximum with a pull shot. Being hit by a tailender was a humiliation for the 24.75 crore-buy, and he could only manage a smile.
Starc then attempted a yorker but completely missed the target. The ball sprayed down the leg side, and Phil Salt’s efforts to stop it were unsuccessful, resulting in DC getting 5 runs as a gift. Starc bowled a full toss to end the over, which Kuldeep Yadav flicked away, and the ball raced away to the boundary. With this, Mitchell Starc conceded 15 runs in his last two balls.

However, the target of 154 runs was considered below par for a strong KKR batting lineup. Delhi Capitals needed early breakthroughs, but they couldn’t manage to do so.

After the power-play, Delhi managed to get two crucial wickets, dismissing both openers in successive overs. However, an unbeaten partnership between the Iyer duo, Shreyas and Venkatesh, steered KKR closer to victory. They comfortably chased down the target with 21 balls to spare, securing a convincing win.
