On Tuesday, India Legend and Sri Lanka Legend have played the 3rd match of the ongoing Road Safety World Series 2020 at Dr DY Patil Sports Academy in Mumbai. Meanwhile, in the match, India Legend has beaten up the Sri Lankan Legends by 5 wickets, thanks Irfan’s 57 runs. And also Indian veteran cricketer Mohammad Kaif has also played a brilliant inning of 46 off 45 balls. Not only with bat but also Kaif made a contribution with his fielding as he grabbed two stunning catches.
The first effort from the Mohammad Kaif came in the 8th over of the when Dilshan attempted to pull a short ball from the Munaf Patel, however, his miss-timing with the bat leads to ball into the air. Kaif, who was fielding at the boundary, ran in from his position to time his dive to perfection as he completed the catch.
The second effort from India’s legendary fielder came in the 18th over when Kapugedera flicked a delivery from India pacer Zaheer Khan. Mohammad Kaif was placed at the deep-wicket and he ran to his right to grab his 2nd catch.
Both the efforts from India’s former cricketer was enough to prove that he still has the best reflections and fitness. The video of the incident are now making rounds on internet platforms. Earlier in the match, after winning the toss India Legends invited Sri Lanka Legends to bat first at Dr DY Patil Sports Academy in Mumbai. Meanwhile, in the first innings, Sri Lanka managed to score 138-8 at the end of the 20 overs. From Sri Lankan Legends, Tillakaratne Dilshan and Chamara Kapugedera played the knocks of 23 (23) and 23 (17) respectively.
In the reply, India Legends chased down the score inside 19 overs. From India, Mohammad Kaif and Irfan Pathan played brilliant knocks as the top order struggled. Meanwhile, Irfan Pathan scored 57 runs off 31 balls and Kaif scored 46 runs off 45 balls. And hence India Legends won the match by 5 wickets with remaining 6 balls. Irfan Pathan awarded with ‘Player of the Match’ for his 57 runs and 1 wicket.
