Prithvi Shaw has been away from the limelight for quite a while now. The Mumbai-born batter has been out of the Indian side since July 2021. However, he is actively playing domestic cricket and also represented the county side Northamptonshire in 2023. During his county stint last August, he sustained a knee injury and had to undergo surgery. He made his return through the Ranji Trophy and is currently playing the final match of the tournament.
Yash Thakur cleans up Prithvi Shaw with a brilliant Inswinger
In the Mumbai vs Vidarbha final, Prithvi Shaw played a 46-run knock in the first innings. However, he managed to score only 11 runs in the second innings of the match, all thanks to Yash Thakur’s brilliant inswinger, which completely left Shaw clueless. In the 7th over of the innings, Prithvi Shaw and Bhupesh Lalwani’s 26-run opening partnership was broken by Yash Thakur.
Shaw didn’t expect the ball to swing much, and he committed to the wrong line. The ball found a big gap between the bat and pads, going on to thrash the stumps. Prithvi Shaw was stunned by the delivery and was reflecting on the incident as he walked to the pavilion.

Yash Thakur has been a part of Lucknow Super Giants since IPL 2023. LSG secured his services in the 2023 Auction for 45 lakh. He played 9 matches last season and scalped 13 wickets. Owing to his performance, LSG decided to retain the 25-year-old bowler for the IPL 2024 season.

On the other hand, Prithvi Shaw will be donning the Delhi Capitals jersey for the 7th consecutive season. However, his performance in the recent IPL seasons has not been up to the mark. Shaw has played 18 matches in the last two IPL seasons for Delhi and has managed to score only 389 runs, which includes only 3 fifty-plus scores.
