The 2nd ODI between Team India and New Zealand is being held today at Shaheed Veer Narayan International Stadium, Raipur. The coin toss for the match was held at 1:00 PM, with captains Rohit Sharma and Tom Latham there at the crease alongside Javagal Srinath and Ravi Shastri.
The coin, tossed by match referee Javagal Srinath went in India’s favour after Latham failed to call it right. Skipper Sharma was asked to share his decision but appeared to be confused over what he wanted to do.
Rohit hilariously took a long pause and scratched his head for a few seconds before opting to bowl first.
Black Caps stand-in captain Tom Latham as well as Chahal and Mohammed Siraj in the background were left in splits at the amusing act from the Team India captain.

Following the brain-freeze event, Rohit Sharma clarified there were multiple discussions with the team regarding the toss and therefore the confusion.
“I forgot what we wanted to do, we had plenty of discussions about the toss”, Rohit said.
Rohit Sharma and co. dominate NZ
The hard-thought decision from Rohit Sharma was proven correct by his bowlers, who fired in unison to restrict the visitors to just 108 runs.
The procession of wickets started with Mohammad Shami ripping through Finn Allen in the first over. The scalp gave birth to an early collapse as Shami struck once again, and was supported by one wicket each from Md. Siraj and Hardik Pandya to reduce 15 for 4 inside the first 10 overs.

Shardul Thakur then struck in the very next over to send Latham packing, putting a stamp on the decision that Rohit Sharma made at toss time. Kuldeep and Washington Sundar also struck at the fag end of the innings as no bowler went wicketless.
