Team India registered a much-needed win against Afghanistan in a do-or-die match on 03rd Nov. The Indian team received a lot of backlash recently after losing two back-to-back games against Pakistan and New Zealand. The Indian batsman came under scrutiny after their flop show, however they bounced back against Afghanistan showing their class.

The Indian team displayed their mettle on Wednesday as every player contributed to a much-needed win to stay alive in the tournament. After the victory, India made sure that they still had a slim chance to make it to the Semi-Finals. For the uninitiated, Virat Kohli was questioned about Rohit Sharma’s selection in the squad against Pakistan. After the match against Afghanistan, Rohit Sharma makes the journalists laugh with his actions in the post-match conference.

Rohit Sharma gets excited, counts journalists

The Indian vice-captain has a knack of making the conferences amusing with his antics and it was no different after the match against Afghanistan. As soon as he entered, he looked at the journalists and started counting them. It made for a hilarious moment as Rohit Sharma gets excited in the press conference. Rohit Sharma had all the reasons to smile in the conference as he put up a great show on Wednesday.

The duo of KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma amassed record 140 runs for the first wicket, playing a crucial role in India’s victory. The bowlers were at their lethal best as they wrapped up the Afghanistan openers pretty quickly. The target of 211 was always going to be an uphill task for the Afghans and the Indian bowlers made it even more difficult for the team.

India will play their next match against Scotland on Friday, which will be followed by the game against Namibia. Team India need to win both their matches with a big margin and hope for other results to go in their favour to make it to the Semi-Finals.
