India whitewashed Sri Lanka with a thumping victory in the third ODI of the series at the Greenfield Stadium. Virat Kohli scored an unbeaten 166 and Shubhman Gill joined him with a well-made 116 to help India post 390 runs in front of Lanka.
In reply, the Sri Lankan batting lineup got outplayed in front of the Indian bowlers. They were all out on 73 runs inside 22 overs in the chase of 391. Indian right-arm pacer Mohammad Siraj bagged outstanding figures of 4/32.

Captain Rohit Sharma handed over the ball to Shreyas Iyer in the 18th over of the game. At that stage, India was in the driving seat and almost won that game already as the score was 55-8. Virat Kohli who was standing in the slip cordon left shell-shocked after watching that delivery. The ball delivered by Iyer landed right on the seam and beat Srilankan batter Kumara’s bat from miles.
India can use Iyer as a middle-over bowler as well in the World Cup
After looking at the bowling ability of the Iyer team India can consider Iyer as a middle-over bowler along with Kuldeep and Jadeja. His variation in bowling is pretty much similar to England’s Liam Livingstone. The English team uses Liam Livingstone very smartly as he has the ability to strike the ball and can also spin the ball in bowling.
