Dewald Brevis makes his debut for the national side against Australia after a long wait. Fellow IPL teammate Tilak Varma was extremely pleased with his introduction on the national side. Mumbai Indians camp extremely delighted after watching Brevis playing his inaugural T20I game.

During the first T20 international between South Africa and Australia, both teams experimented while introducing some fresh faces in their units. The Aussies have introduced four debutants on the other hand Proteas have played 2 new faces.

Talented Dewald Brevis debuts for South Africa

The 20-year-old flamboyant right-handed batter has finally featured in his first-ever International game. His debut was highly anticipated as he has been often seen as the successor of legendary South African batter AB De Villiers. 

Brevis is one of those players who have already established their name in the world of cricket without playing any International match. The explosive top-order batter has been playing in T20 leagues across the globe where he has made his mark superbly. 

During his first season in the Indian Premier League, he impressed everyone with his hitting ability against the spinners. However, the player didn’t get many chances in the MI lineup as it was already stacked with overseas established batters. 

Meanwhile, Brevis developed a great bond with his MI teammates who congratulated him in a very pleasant way.

While the Indian team is preparing for the Asia Cup 2023 in Sri Lanka they were enjoying the first T20I between Australia and South Africa. Meanwhile, the MI players of the Indian team were cheering for their fellow teammate Dewald Brevis who was playing his first game for his country.

Tilak Varma was absolutely delighted when he saw Brevis getting his maiden international cap at the hands of Hashim Amla in the pre-match huddle. 

Fans have already started to recognize the new bromance in the town. Especially the MI fans love this bond between two of their talented young batters. 

Brevis’s debut lasted for only 6 balls

The highly talked about debut of Brevis didn’t end in a great fashion as he got out on just 5 runs while chasing the score of 227 runs. Another debutant Tanveer Sangha bagged his wicket in a very clever way. 

Tanveer Sangha impressed everyone with his brave bowling as he bagged 4 wickets in his spell.
