Team India have put themselves in a pretty strong position on the second day of the first Test against Bangladesh in Chattogram.

While it was Ravichandran Ashwin and Kuldeep Yadav’s crucial partnership that put the Indian team in the driving seat, Umesh Yadav stunned the Bangladesh team with a 100-meter six to get off the mark.

Umesh Yadav flaunts his power-hitting against Bangladesh

Team India started batting on the second day of Chattogram Test after losing six wickets on the first day. Shreyas Iyer departed for a well made 86 and then it was all about the partnership between Indian spinners Ashwin and Kuldeep as the duo forged a crucial 92-run partnership to make sure that the Indian Team puts a strong total on the board.

Just when Ashwin lost his wicket, Bangladesh bowlers felt a bit relieved as they thought there won’t be any more display of strong batting from Indian batters. However, Indian pacer Umesh Yadav had different plans in his mind. Umesh defended the first delivery bowled by Bangladesh spinner Mehidy Hasan Miraz and then got down on one knee as he slogged him over deep mid-wicket for a massive 100-meter long six.

Umesh Yadav didn’t stop here as he slogged one more monstrous six against Mehidy Hasan Miraz just after the departure of Kuldeep Yadav. This shot too crossed the 100-meter mark as the pacer quickly scored 15 crucial runs for Team India. The Vidarbha pacer certainly looked in a mood to slog a few more boundaries but couldn’t do so as Mohammad Siraj tried replicating what Yadav had earlier done and handed over his wicket. This led to the end of India’s innings at a total of 404 runs as Umesh Yadav remained unbeaten.

The pace duo of Umesh and Siraj started off the proceedings with the new ball in some style as they both earned their first wicket in quick succession. Siraj got rid of Shanto while Umesh Yadav departed Yasir Ali. At the end of the second day’s play, Bangladesh are in a spot of bother as they have already lost 8 wickets for mere 133 runs.
