Team India are in a spot of bother in the second test of the two-match test series in Dhaka as they have already lost four crucial wickets for just 45 runs.
Just before the end of the third day’s play, Bangladesh managed to get rid of Virat Kohli and had some words with the legendary batter which sparked the cricket field.
Virat Kohli gets furious with Taijul Islam after his early dismissal
Virat Kohli came in to bat in the final session of the third day after the Indian team had lost important wickets of Rahul, Gill and Pujara. Axar was sent at number four in order to save India’s middle from getting exposed early but with the departure of Shubman Gill, Team India was forced to send their star batter Virat Kohli with just a few overs left before the end of the day’s play.
Virat Kohli too understood the situation really well and kept playing his defensive game really well. However, when it looked like India won’t lose any more wickets, Kohli defended an off-stump delivery bowled by off-spinner Mehidy Hasan with hard hands. The ball after getting deflected from his pads went towards Mominul Haque who took an absolutely brilliant low catch to get rid of the big fish.
Just as Mominul Haque completed the catch, all Bangladesh fielders started celebrating and ran towards Mehidy Hasan to applaud his penetrating bowling. Virat Kohli didn’t leave the field and was visibly unhappy with the Bangladesh fielders celebrating in his face and had some words exchanged with left-arm spinner Taijul Islam. Here’s the video of the incident.

Bangladesh skipper Shakib Al Hasan and the on-field umpires came in to calm down the situation as the Indian batter signalled towards Taijul Islam and showed his frustration before leaving the field. Shakib then went towards Taijul, and had a close discussion with him, reminding him that the job is not done yet.
Team India is still 100 runs behind the Bangladesh total with Axar Patel tackling the Bangladesh spinners really well. Axar has already scored a crucial 26 and Team India will hope that he will remain at the crease for some time as Rishabh Pant and Shreyas Iyer are still to come.
