The final ODI of the 3-match series between India and West Indies saw the tourists extend their match-winning run to a third successive game. More specifically, during the second over of West Indies’ run chase, Mohammed Siraj struck in rapid succession to derail the tourists’ momentum upfront. The speedy right-arm quick came up with a deadly display of swing bowling to send Kyle Mayers and Shamarh Brooks back to the pavilion without disturbing the scorecard.Â
Both of Siraj’s dismissals were absolute treats for hardcore fans of classic swing bowling. The left-handed Mayers was undone by the sharp swing and bounce that were on offer at the Trinidad surface and got clean-bowled. Brooks, meanwhile, had little time to warm up and perfect his foot movement, as Siraj lobbed yet another in-swinger that trapped him LBW plumb in front of the stumps.Â

Shubman Gill bags player of the match and series awards
There were plenty of positives for the Indian team throughout this 3-0 series whitewash, but none probably bigger than opener Shubman Gill’s coming of age in the white-ball format. The right-hander compiled 205-runs across the 3 matches that he featured in. If it weren’t for a rainy interruption, Shubman could’ve attained the milestone of scoring his maiden international century, but he ended the innings stranded on 98 not out.Â
