Rain has been the most discussed point throughout the T20 World Cup 2022 as it has already affected a few results in the Super 12 stage.

T20 World Cup trophy will be shared if the final gets abandoned due to rain
Most cricket fans globally are trying to understand who will get the World Cup trophy in the scenario of rain playing its part in the reserve day as well. ICC rules have made it clear that the trophy will be shared if we don’t get a result even on the reserve day.
November 10 & 11 are the reserved day for the semifinals while November 14 is the reserved day for the World Cup final. According to the rules, in rain-affected matches, a minimum of 5 overs have to be bowled in the 2nd innings for the match to be completed. However, given the importance of these matches, at least 10 overs have to be bowled in the 2nd innings of the semi-finals & finals to constitute a result.
The T20 World Cup final is scheduled on November 13 at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground and the bad news is that Melbourne is predicted to be showered by rain on Sunday evening which can eventually play the spoilsport in the final.
Three games have already been abandoned due to rain in MCG including the most-awaited England vs Australia game. Bureau of Meteorology has come up with a prediction of a 94 percent chance of showers peppering the Victorian capital on Sunday which means the final of the mega ICC event might get washed out.

ICC has fixed the final’s backup slot scheduled for 3 PM on Monday afternoon with an additional two hours allocated to get the match complete if there are rain interruptions. However, even on the reserve day i.e. November 14, there’s a prediction of 84 percent rain which is sufficient to ruin all the efforts of the grounds staff. Despite the reserve day, if the final is washed out, the trophy will be shared between the two finalists.
