Surrey’s star all-rounder Will Jacks was bought by the Royal Challengers Bangalore at the IPL 2023 Mini Auction on December 23.
Will Jacks thanked RCB for selecting him but didn’t miss out on an opportunity to troll the franchise for the picture they used in the official tweet.
Will Jacks makes fun of RCB’s social media post
Royal Challengers Bangalore got into an intense bidding war with Rajasthan Royals to get the mighty all-rounder into their squad. Eventually, the Bangalore based franchise managed to grab him at a price of INR 3.2 crore. RCB clearly looked quite keen on getting him at any price.
Just after they placed a successful bid for the Surrey all-rounder, RCB shared a welcome post on their official Twitter account with the caption, “Joining RCB’s #ClassOf2023: Name: Will Jacks, Price: 320L, Welcome to the RCB family! #PlayBold #WeAreChallengers #IPL2023 #IPL2023Auction”

Will Jacks looked quite pleased after being bought by RCB as he thanked them for the opportunity but he found the picture that was used by the franchise quite funny and couldn’t stop himself from trolling RCB’s post. He shared the welcome tweet by RCB on his account with the caption, Grateful for the opportunity and excited for this! @RCBTweets. Ps: not sure about this photo.” He added a laughing emoji to his tweet and made sure that the picture used by RCB wasn’t a good selection.
Grateful for the opportunity and excited for this! @RCBTweets

The Royal Challengers Bangalore franchise was using a template which featured all of the players that were being bought, shown inside a frozen chamber to signify that RCB have locked those players.
Keeping aside the fun part, Will Jacks can be a crucial addition to the RCB side considering the kind of aggressive cricket he plays in different cricket leagues. Will Jacks holds the record of scoring 100 in just 25 balls in a T-10 match. He also did well with both bat and ball on the recently concluded Pakistan tour.
RCB might use Jacks as a cover to their flamboyant all-rounder Glenn Maxwell, who met with a freak injury at a friend’s birthday party. Maxwell hasn’t recovered from the injury yet and the RCB franchise might be concerned about his availability for the IPL 2023.
