Yuvraj Singh is a household name for the Indian cricket fans and the cricketer enjoys a great fan following owing to his contribution to the Indian cricket team. The southpaw has been instrumental in plenty of team India’s victories; however, the cricketer is in the news for all the wrong reasons currently. The recent turn of events saw Yuvraj Singh arrested for one of his old comments on Yuzvendra Chahal.
The incident goes back to April last year where the ex-Indian cricketer was live on Instagram with the current India vice-captain Rohit Sharma. During the session, Yuvraj allegedly used a ‘casteist slur’ when referring to Yuzvendra Chahal. The comment by the cricketer brought him a lot of backlash back then, followed by a complaint by a Dalit activist Rajan Kalsan. As a result of it, Saturday saw Yuvraj Singh arrested by the Hansi Police.
Yuvraj Singh arrested for 1-year old comment
According to the reports, the cricketer was arrested under section 153A and section 505 of the Indian Penal Code. The former cricketer was interrogated by the police for around three hours after which he was released on interim bail. The Hight Court has ordered the police not to arrest the cricketer and the hearing of the case will be on November 18.
After receiving the backlash from the public, Yuvraj Singh had issued a statement expressing his apology over his comment. He also wrote that he was misunderstood and he didn’t really mean what he said. The former cricketer apologized for hurting the sentiments of the community and the people around.

As for now, the cricketer has left for Chandigarh upon his release. Yuvraj Singh will face no arrest as per the orders given by Haryana High Court. The Haryana High Court has ordered the police to release the cricketer on interim bail if arrested.
