A photo of Chennai Super Kings players Rachin Ravindra and newly recruited Andre Siddarth posing together has gone viral on social media due to their striking resemblance. Both cricketers share similar curly hairstyles and facial features, leading netizens to dub Andre Siddarth as Rachin Ravindra’s younger brother.
Some fans called them twins, while one humorously referred to them as “Kumbh Mele ke bichhde bhai (brothers separated at the Kumbh fair).” Kiwi batter Rachin Ravindra has already become a star in a short span of his career, but fans know little about Andre Siddarth. So, let’s get to know this 18-year-old CSK wonderkid.
Who is Andre Siddarth, Rachin Ravindra’s doppelgänger?
Andre Siddarth made his Ranji Trophy debut for Tamil Nadu in October 2024 and quickly grabbed attention. In just eight first-class matches, the youngster amassed 612 runs, including one century and five fifties. He was Tamil Nadu’s second-highest run-scorer last Ranji season, only behind N Jagadeesan. Recognizing his talent, Chennai Super Kings picked him up for his base price of ₹30 lakh in the IPL 2025 auction.
Andre Siddarth is a right-handed batter, unlike his ‘brother from another mother’ Rachin Ravindra. In the Ranji Trophy, he batted at No. 6 with an aggressive approach. If an opportunity arises, CSK is likely to back him in the middle order.
18-year-old Andre is the nephew of former Tamil Nadu batter Sridharan Sharath. He learned a lot about the game from his uncle during his childhood. Sridharan is a veteran domestic batter who played 139 matches for Tamil Nadu and amassed over 8,700 runs with an impressive average of 50+. Sridharan Sharath is currently a member of the Ajit Agarkar-led Indian selection committee.

CSK usually fields a star-studded team, and Andre Siddarth might not be part of the playing XI at the beginning of the season. On the other hand, Rachin Ravindra will open alongside skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad. The 25-year-old New Zealand batter is in exceptional form, having recently been named Player of the Tournament in the Champions Trophy 2025. He also bowls left-arm off-spin which adds an extra dimension to the team.
