Suresh Raina Undergoes Surgery
Indian left-handed batsman Suresh Raina has been sidelined from cricket for 4-6 weeks after undergoing knee surgery in Amsterdam. He was facing discomfort in his knee from the past few months. BCCI’s official twitter handle confirmed this news and stated that the batsman requires 4-6 week rehab for recovery.
Following surgery, Suresh Raina ruled out for one month from India’s domestic season starting this month. Uttar Pradesh southpaw did well in the limited-overs domestic season in 2018 after which he got a place in the Indian team.
Meanwhile, after 2019 IPL season, Suresh Raina hasn’t played any cricket match and spending most of his time in Amsterdam where his wife Priyanka works in a bank. Raina didn’t have a great IPL season this year, although he played a couple of good knocks. CSK vice-captain Raina scored 383 runs in 17 matches with an average of 23.93.
Suresh Raina Played Last Match For India In 2018
Suresh Raina played his last match for India in July 2018 vs England. 32-year old made his comeback in the Indian side in February 2018 after being dropped from the side in February 2017. Later Suresh Raina played Nidahas Trophy and T20 series in England. In England tour, Suresh Raina made his ODI comeback replacing Ambati Rayudu who failed the yo-yo test.

But after the ODI series against England, Suresh Raina didn’t get another chance to don the blue jersey. Also, he didn’t get the chance in the 2019 World Cup.

The greatest fielder of all time Jonty Rhodes wrote a heartfelt message to Suresh Raina following his surgery. He tweeted, “Suresh Raina you have been an inspiration to so many with your incredible work ethic over your career, especially these last couple of years. Listen to your body now my friend – knowing u, u will want to be out training tomorrow”.
